The ship name Tokiwa Maru was announced on April 24, 2013, following a public naming contest. The name was chosen with the imagery of a crested ibis (toki) gracefully flapping its wings over a calm sea, symbolizing the wishes for "eternal safe navigation" and for passengers to "enjoy a comfortable and relaxing time on board." The ship has a six-deck structure: the top, 6th deck houses the bridge and crew quarters; the 5th and 4th decks contain passenger areas and crew quarters; the 3rd deck is for passengers; and the 1st and 2nd decks are designated for vehicle storage.
Please Note: Whilst we have taken great care in making our Tokiwa Maru guide as accurate as possible, onboard facilities, services and entertainment may vary depending on the date and time of year that you travel, facilities mentioned may change without notification and ferry companies reserve the right to operate vessels other than those mentioned at time of booking without prior notification.
