The port of Birkenhead is located in the North West of England on the banks of the River Mersey opposite the city of Liverpool. The Birkenhead crossing currently runs year round with a choice of day or night sailings. The twenty five million pound ferry terminal was opened in 2002 and boasts some top class facilities for those who pass through its doors, whether with tourist vehicles or commercial freight.
Belfast is Northern Ireland's principal passenger ferry port with more than a million ferry passengers passing through annually. Isle of Man ferries arrive and depart at Albert Quay while Stena Line services use the Victoria terminal.
