The French town and port of Le Havre is located in the Haute-Normandie region of north west France, and lies on the estuary of the River Seine. It is France's second port for total traffic, after Marseille, but is the largest container port in France. Following considerable damage during the Second World War, the town of Le Havre rebuilt, with many of its buildings designed by the architect Auguste Perret in the pot-war period. There are, however, some interesting buildings in the town that are worth visiting. So much in fact that the city has since been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Port of Le Havre has two ferry terminals.
