On the island of Tavewa, one of the string of isles that make up the Yasawa archipelago off the north coast of Fiji, is Coralview Island Resort. The island resort, named after the vibrant coral-reefs that hem the coastline, has seven weekly sailings to the Fijian mainland port of Denarau. All crossings are provided by Awesome Adventure Fiji with the journey time taking just over four hours.
What will I find at Coralview Island Resort?
This small seafront community is bursting with untouched tropical beauty with a spectacle of long, golden beaches and lush palm tree woodland, bustling with life. With its own marine reserve, this patch of paradise is ideal for snorkelling and for the braver visitor, diving with sharks. The resort is ideally placed for a Blue Lagoon beach visit with cave trips also popular.
What about travelling around?
There are no roads or a public transport network on the island, meaning that the inland areas can only be traversed on foot. The port itself is devoid of any facilities but there are amenities on offer at the Coralview Resort just a few steps across the beach.
What services run from the terminal?
The Port of Coralview Island is little more than a section of the beach whose crystalline shallows are enclosed by sand-banks that form a small rectangular inlet of the South Pacific Ocean. It’s an area that can only be reached through a narrow entrance inaccessible to larger vessels. One ferry service currently runs from Coralview Island. An Awesome Adventures Fiji line makes the short trip south to the port-town of Denarau on the Fijian mainland, a daily route that whisks passengers into the azure waters of Nadi Bay.
