The Greek island of Antikythira sits in the crystalline waters of the Aegean Sea, equidistant from the Peloponnese region of Greece and the popular coastline of Crete. Antikythira is home to the world’s largest breeding ground for Eleonora’s falcon, which migrates from Madagascar to the Mediterranean. It’s become an important research outpost for the study of the species.
The Port of Antikythira is found on the north of the island. The passenger terminal is made up of a small pier which is situated at the foot of a narrow inlet of the ocean, just along from a small, hill top marina.

Full of restaurants, bars and nightclubs, the waterfront district was greatly redeveloped in time for the Athens Olympics and as a result a new harbour front promenade was created that is lined with trees and passes the medieval city walls. The walls serve as a reminder and as an insight into the city's rich past.
