The region of Agaete is located in Las Palmas province in the Canary Islands in Spain. It lies to the north west of Gran Canaria island with the Atlantic Ocean, the Galdar and the Artenara to the west and east and south respectively. This part of the city is also overlooked by the 18th century Baroque facade of the La Carta Palace. In the centre of the city, near the sea, several of the busiest streets and squares of the capital meet, such as the Plaza de la Candelaria.
From the city's port there are ferry services departing to mainland Spain and to the other Canary Islands.
