Taking just fifty minutes, and with departures every other hour, this inter-island route represents an excellent choice when it comes to exploring southern Denmark, either by foot or car. Hop on the Als Ferry to visit the island of Als, an ideal place for families with plenty of tourist options including pretty harbours, Sonderborg Castle and Augustenborg Palace. You could also use the Bøjden-Fynshav crossing as a short cut to Jutland, the country’s largest peninsula, or Funen, an island filled with picture-postcard towns and a two thousand year old passage grave, saving you hours of driving.

The ship, Als Ferry, is well-equipped and modern, featuring a bistro-style restaurant selling freshly made Danish open sandwiches known as ‘smorrebrod’, and other refreshments including hot and cold drinks, as well as a few play areas for children.
